Abstract
Research questions/hypothesesBiomolecular condensates govern various cellular processes in health and disease and consist of proteins and RNA. We hypothesize that cancer-specific long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) regulate oncogenic biomolecular condensates.Intended approaches and research designWe will identify lncRNA targets of fusion oncoproteins and investigate their localization to fusion-containing condensates by RNA-FISH. CRISPR-mediated targeting of lncRNAs will identify how they alter biomolecular condensation in fusion-protein-driven cancer.Expected resultsThe work will provide the mechanistic insights required to target lncRNAs in oncogene-induced biomolecular condensation.
